Terms
Scout is a free beta. These are the plain-English terms for using it. Last updated 29 June 2026.
What Scout is
Scout is a free service that recommends indie games and can email you when a game you're watching launches or drops in price. It's in beta, run by one person, and offered as-is.
No guarantees
Recommendations, review numbers, prices and release dates are best-effort and come largely from Steam โ they can be out of date or wrong. Alerts are best-effort too: we may miss a price drop or a launch, or be late. Please don't rely on Scout for anything important โ always check the game's Steam page before buying.
Fair use
Use Scout normally as a person looking for games. Don't hammer, scrape, or try to break the service, and don't use it to send spam or anything illegal. We may rate-limit or block abuse.
Other services & links
Scout links out to Steam and other stores and shows data from them; we're not responsible for those sites or your purchases there. Scout is not affiliated with Valve or Steam โ "Steam" and game names belong to their owners.
Changes
Because it's a beta, Scout can change or pause at any time, and these terms may be updated โ the date above shows when. Your privacy is covered separately in our Privacy page.
